Just a few months ago, Republicans were loudly declaring that abortion access must be decided at the state level. Now, Republicans, led by Senator Lindsey Graham, have introduced a nationwide abortion ban.
So let’s be clear: their anti-abortion obsession has nothing to do with the constitution, or democracy, or “letting the people decide.” It has ALWAYS been about power and control over our bodies.
Senator Graham’s proposed national abortion ban is unconscionable. We know this has been the GOP’s plan all along. If Republicans take control of Congress in November, they WILL try to ban abortion nationwide. This is a direct attack on the will of the people – we can’t let it happen.
It’s time to fight back and show we will NEVER accept ANY abortion ban. If you agree, please join me and voice your opposition to the GOP’s shameless attempts to strip millions of Americans of our human rights.
A nationwide abortion ban is now an official policy position of the Republican Party. They WILL pass this and other extreme measures if given the chance. Millions of people have now lost abortion access in America. One in THREE women between the ages of 15 and 44 no longer have the right to abortion where they live.
What’s more, abortion bans don’t *just* affect actual abortions. They can affect all aspects of pregnant people’s healthcare, taking critical decisions away from patients and their doctors. There is nothing “pro-life” about banning abortions.
Enough is enough. We must do everything we can to ensure this extreme bill fails.
