[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

When we launched this campaign, I wasn’t sure what to expect honestly.

I worried about how much this race would cost because I knew Republicans would pump tens of millions of dollars into our state, as they are doing right now. I also knew that we needed to run a campaign the right way. That meant rejecting corporate PAC money because DC special interests should not be allowed to buy Senate seats.

It was clear that we’d need a whole lot of folks like you joining us to fight back. So I put my faith in you, and we kicked off a campaign with a new playbook unlike anyone has tried in North Carolina before.

And right after our announcement, the response was immediate and overwhelming. Sonya, a teacher from Charlotte, chipped in $5. Then Catherine from Boone, a health care worker, made a $20 recurring contribution, and moments later, Anna, a social worker from Durham, gave $50...and we were off.

You probably didn’t wake up expecting to contribute to our campaign today. But in a race that pundits didn’t expect to be one of the most competitive ones in the country as it is now, we have to keep doing the unexpected because we know that’s what it takes to flip a Senate seat blue in the South.

Will you please consider making a contribution to our campaign today to turn out the voters we need to win? This month’s FEC deadline is our campaign’s biggest test to date, and I cannot do this alone.

I’ve known since we launched this campaign that we could win this race. This team proved right off the bat that we have what it takes to compete with the dark money flooding our state.

But we cannot let up now, especially not when victory is so clearly within reach.

Thank you so much,

Cheri
