Friend,
Just in the last week, Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced a national abortion ban in the U.S. Senate, Indiana’s near-total abortion ban went into effect, and West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice signed a law banning abortion with few exceptions.
A very specific response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade is happening: On one hand, we’re seeing abortion bans left and right, and on the other, we’re seeing droves of newly registered voters who are ready to vote out these anti-choice elected officials.
Friend, we have 50 days. The stakes in the fight for the future of reproductive freedom could not be higher. Register three prochoice voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Nevada AND get them our voter guide with a gift of $18.
We know that if the House and Senate flip to GOP control, there WILL be a vote on Sen. Graham’s bill to ban abortion. And we know that if we get new voters ready to vote for prochoice champions at the local, state, AND federal levels, that vote will never come to pass.
One final thought: last week we also saw a City Council member in Philadelphia introduce a package of bills to make Philadelphia the "place for reproductive freedom." That’s why we focus on the local level to stop the criminalization of abortion. There is hope in our prochoice champions.
And we don’t have any time to waste in making sure that voters are ready to elect them.
