Governor Laura Kelly Encourages Job-Seekers to Attend Statewide Virtual Job Fair

TOPEKA* – Governor Laura Kelly invites job seekers and employers to participate in the next Statewide Virtual Job fair, hosted by *KANSASWORKS [ [link removed] ]*, from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22.

“Just last week, we announced that we surpassed 50,000 jobs created and retained in Kansas, and our unemployment rate continues to be at an all-time low,” *said Governor Kelly. *“Our plan is simple – get Kansans back to work. I encourage all job seekers to participate in the *KANSAS*WORKS job fair.”

Registration is required in order to participate in the virtual job fair, regardless of previous participation. The Virtual Statewide Job Fair portal features a Job Seeker Training video, a list of participating employers, and channels for attendees to register and log in. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally, as employers may request to engage in a video interview.

“Our workforce development teams are dedicated to providing assistance with the job search process, creating effective resumes, job training, job placement and more,” *Lieutenant Governor and Commerce Secretary David Toland said.* “Creating connections that result in job seekers finding meaningful and lucrative employment allows our state to prosper.”

Candidates can participate via any digital device. Any individual with a disability may request accommodations by contacting their nearest workforce center at (877) 509-6757 prior to the event.
