Let's hope this ruling against Couy Griffin has a ripple effect.

We get it, Jack.

It’s disheartening that almost three years after the insurrection took place, we are only just starting to hold Republican-elected officials who stormed the Capitol accountable. But this may also be an important first step towards preserving our democracy in the face of the conspiracy theories and lies that are permeating our nation.

The New Mexico court’s decision to remove County Commissioner Couy Griffin from office and bar him from seeking future public office for his role in the insurrection can, and should, be cited by others across the country who want to file their own lawsuits to keep insurrectionists off their ballots.

Preserving our democracy is not going to be an easy fight, but New Mexico is leading the way. We must make sure these conspiracy theorists – like Maggie’s Republican opponent – are kept far away from the seats that oversee our elections. Will you help us keep up this momentum and protect our elections by donating $10 today?

Let’s not forget that the lawsuit to disqualify Griffin from the ballot was brought by private citizens living in New Mexico. People like you will be the reason we rescue our democracy from the brink.

With your support and Maggie’s leadership, we can keep New Mexico’s elections free and fair for years to come. But we must get the word out to voters ahead of Election Day!

We’ve set a goal to raise another $5,000 this week so we can keep our voter outreach going at full speed. Click here to rush $10 or more →https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mto-email
