LANSING, Mich. – Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, in accordance with a proclamation issued by President Biden, has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags within the State Capitol Complex and across all public buildings and grounds to be returned to full-staff at sunset on Monday, September 19 following the interment of Queen Elizabeth II.

The State of Michigan, in accordance with the president’s directive, has maintained flags at the half-staff position since September 8 in recognition of the queen’s lifetime of service. Michigan residents, businesses, schools, local governments, and other organizations were also encouraged to display the flag at half-staff.
