John, my name is Manuel Oliver.
Four years ago, my son Joaquin was killed in the Parkland school shooting.
There is no cure to the grief of losing your child, a grief I share with far too many due to the grip the NRA has on lawmakers in this country. But I’m determined to fight in honor of my son, an activist himself in life, to prevent other parents from living the unparalleled tragedy of losing a child to gun violence.
And I have more hope than ever now that my friend and gun violence prevention champion, Maxwell Frost, defied all odds to WIN his Democratic primary.
We know that one politician won’t be the answer, but Maxwell now has the chance to be the first member of Gen Z – my son’s generation – elected to Congress.
The time has come for us to elect the next generation of leaders who will not wait any longer for change. But Maxwell winning in the general election is the NRA’s worst nightmare. We need to raise $8,739 today to fight back and get him to the finish line. Will you rush $27 today? >>
John, I’ve met with countless politicians who made promises and yet, nothing has changed.
No one should feel the pain my family and community has, but across this country, parents are still losing their children to school shootings, families are still broken, and an entire generation continues to live in fear.
But now, that generation will have a fighter in Congress who knows that sweeping gun violence reform CANNOT wait.
As National Organizing Director for March for Our Lives, Maxwell stood up to the NRA again and again.
He helped mobilize a youth movement into a powerful force for gun violence prevention– advocating for policy across the country and standing up against armed counter-protesters.
Maxwell is the NRA and GOP’s worst nightmare, because he won’t stay silent or get complacent. He won’t give up until we are ALL free from gun violence.
We refuse to surrender to the gun lobby, but we still need to raise $8,739 from grassroots donors before midnight to fight back. So I'm personally asking– will you chip in $27 ASAP? >>
Thank you,
Manuel Oliver
