John: Blessings to you and your loved ones as we enter this new year according to God's calendar. In a matter of days, millions of Jews worldwide will celebrate Rosh Hashanah, our New Year, and start the High Holiday period. Our thoughts turn to what life will be like this coming year — for our loved ones and ourselves. Rosh Hashanah is also a time for Jews to seek inspiration, cast away our sins, repent and ask for forgiveness, and ask that we be “Inscribed and sealed for a good year” in the Book of Life. And one way to seek God’s favor as we embrace a New Year is with an opportunity to do better in fulfilling God’s commandments by being charitable. Despite the many blessings in our lives, there are still too many people around the world facing difficult challenges. But your support of the Genesis 123 Foundation allows us to continue providing urgent care for elderly Holocaust Survivors living in poverty, refugees forced to leave Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion, as well as Christians in Pakistan who are persecuted and are now having to rebuild their lives after a major flood. While the Genesis 123 Foundation is a small organization, we have a large reach around the world, thanks to supporters like you. We are blessed to have friends like those from the Embassy Church in Ontario, Canada, who made the cards below for us to distribute to Holocaust survivors for the New Year. Unfortunately, cards alone, while uplifting, will not solve the problems so many people face.
It is customary to pray and dip an apple in honey as a symbolic gesture to begin the new year with sweetness. Many people will not have this opportunity without our help. Please join us to make this a sweet new year for them. Each of their struggles has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and other circumstances beyond their control, and while we may never have enough resources to solve problems for everyone who needs us, we will always do our part within our ability. The Genesis 123 Foundation partners with community organizations in Israel, Poland, Pakistan, and around the world to provide direct assistance to those who need it most. We are literally, and proudly, a blessing to the families of the world. Rosh Hashanah should be a time of celebration and your support can truly make a difference during this High Holiday season, especially for these strong yet gentle souls who have experienced some of humanity’s most tragic atrocities. L'shana Tovah! (May you have a healthy, sweet, and prosperous new year!) Jonathan Feldstein P.S. Whether it’s providing meals to the elderly, refreshments to IDF soldiers serving in dangerous areas or providing life-saving emergency kits to communities in the Judean Mountain region of Israel, or holiday meals to refugees displaced, the team at the Genesis 123 Foundation is constantly working to comfort those in need. Will you consider a gift in the amount of $50, $100, or even $500 and help us serve those in need during this New Year? |
