Time to kick off the week! Here's what you need to know:
NFIB Small Business Guardian Award
The National Federation of Independent Businesses awarded me their Guardian of Small Business award for my efforts in Congress this year. I will always stand with our small businesses, fighting for pro-growth, Main Street policies.
Interview with NBC TMJ4 on Inflation
Charles Benson was in town to cover President Biden's White House celebration of the climate-tax hike bill, the Inflation Reduction Act. The morning before the event, inflation for the month of August was reported to be 8.3%, higher than expectations.

Education and Labor Committee: Hearing on Union Participation
Starbucks has been in the news quite a bit recently due to employees organizing activities. In the Education and Labor Committee we discussed the relationship between union and company leaderships and its impact on the employee work environment.

Education and Labor Committee: Collusion Between White House and Teachers' Union
The Biden Administration worked hand-in-hand with the American Federation of Teachers on school reopening guidelines. School closures, repeatedly proven to have been harmful to our children, were heavily influenced by teachers' unions putting their interests first. I supported a request for the White House to turn over all documents related to this matter.

Meeting with Wisconsin Fraternal Benefit Societies
Fraternal benefit societies play an important role in helping members achieve financially secure lives. Additionally, they make indispensable contributions with their services to those in need. Members representing a few of Wisconsin's own groups stopped by to share how Congress can better help them.
Meeting with Wisconsin Credit Union League
Members of the Wisconsin Credit Union League flew into Washington to share their priorities and what Congress can do to allow them to succeed. Credit unions are not-for-profit financial institutions owned by their members who offer favorable rates, fewer fees, and specialized services.
That’s a wrap for this week’s eNewsletter! Follow me on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date on my work for the 5th District of Wisconsin.
Sincerely,
Scott Fitzgerald
Member of Congress
