This weekend is just a preview of what’s to come in the final 50 days of this race.

Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert are all coming to barnstorm across the state.

This is a clear effort to prop up Ted Budd’s campaign, fire up the far-right base, and pretend that their brand of divisive politics is what the people of North Carolina want.

So we have to be prepared for anything. Trump and his clown car may be coming to North Carolina. They may attack me directly. And Ted Budd may have his super PACs spending $50 million to buy this seat.

But we have something far better: each other. And I know that if we are in this together, we will be ready for anything they throw our way.

This race couldn’t be closer, and Republicans know they cannot retake the majority without this seat. So we must be ready to fight back against a never-ending stream of far-right foolishness.
