The road to recovery is a truly resilient, community-based, and decentralized energy model.
Our hearts go out to the people in Puerto Rico who are facing island-wide power outage since Hurricane Fiona made landfall
** Upcoming Events:

🌱 We're inviting you to join a special Twitter Spaces conversation on September 20th at 10 AM PT/12 PM CT/2 PM ET.
The Reimagined Energy for our Communities, U.S. (REFOCUS) Campaign is inviting groups, allies, and activists from Alaska to Puerto Rico to engage and amplify calls for solidarity for a truly resilient, community-based, and decentralized energy model.
Five years after Hurricanes Harvey and Maria, communities in Houston and Puerto Rico still face long recoveries and major challenges. This Twitter Spaces conversation, hosted by Energy Democracy Project and Climate Nexus, invites community-members from Texas and Puerto Rico to share their thoughts on the road ahead:
* Energy Democracy Projector collaborator Ruth Santiago of Comité Diálogo Ambiental (Puerto Rico)
* Arturo Massol-Deyá of Casa Pueblo (Puerto Rico)
* Sandra Edwards of Coalition for Environment, Equity, and Resiliency (Texas)
* Dr. Brett Perkison of the University of Texas Health Science Center (Texas)
* Moderator: Johanna Bozuwa of the Climate and Community Project (National)
Join us for a discussion around strategies for building community resilience in infrastructure and health, and dismantling the broken systems that worsen climate impacts on vulnerable communities.

** What is the Energy Democracy Project?
------------------------------------------------------------
Since the Energy Democracy National Tour in 2018, almost 40 energy democracy practitioners have been collaborating to build shared resources and strategies to democratize energy.
This decentralized group of collaborators work translocally to build community ownership and control of clean energy resources and to promote racial and economic equity as a cornerstone of the clean energy transition. We are not a typical coalition/alliance/network. We are the Energy Democracy Project.
