Dear Friend --

Imagine a world where the rule of law triumphs over the rule of force, and bullies are shunned for threatening the peace. A world in which no state has the power to hold everyone else hostage by threatening an end to everything we treasure. A world without nuclear weapons.

The vision, and the commitment to build that world, is behind the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, 26 September.

Learn more about the companies building nuclear weapons <[link removed]>

Most of the world wants to see the end of the threat of nuclear weapons, but a few vested interests want to keep the bombs around forever. These are the companies making a profit from building nuclear weapons, and the governments they lobby to keep spending $82 billion a year on these weapons of mass destruction.

Let’s call out these complicit companies <[link removed]> and tell them nuclear weapons are bad business.

Join an action at the companies building nuclear weapons or the financial institutions that back them. Show up at a planned <[link removed]> action, or organise one of your own!

While nuclear weapons related contracts are big, for some of these companies they represent less than 3% of annual turnover. Let's convince them that it is not worth the hassle, and they should quit supporting nuclear arms races.

Investors know the companies behind nuclear weapons go against the values they support with their environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies.

We know that if we want to get rid of the nuclear threat forever, we need to get rid of nuclear weapons- and we need to stigmatize everything to do with them. That's why, this year, we're using this day to tell people that Nuclear Weapons are Bad Business <[link removed]>.

We'll send social media tools to share on the day itself, so get ready to make some noise!

Best wishes,

Susi Snyder,

Financial Sector Coordinator
