The Liberals’ fiscal update shows their priorities – and it’s not everyday Canadians //

John,

If something is your priority, you budget for it. So when Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government chooses a tax break for people making 6 figures while leaving out services Canadians need, it shows exactly who they’re looking out for.

They’re not getting serious about the climate crisis. There’s nothing to show that they’ll follow through with their commitment – made just last week! – to stop fighting Indigenous kids in court. And they won’t close tax loopholes or make huge corporations pay their fair share.

People are tired of empty words while the richest people get even richer and more and more Canadians struggle to make ends meet.

John, it’s never been clearer to me why we need a strong team of New Democrats fighting for people, in Ottawa and all across the country. If we don’t stand up for everyday people, who will? But to keep this team strong heading into 2020, we have to hit our end of year fundraising target. Will you chip in $3 now to help us get there?

Chip in!

John, it’s only been a short time since the election, but a lot has already happened to make me hopeful for the future. Jagmeet and our team haven’t backed down on the issues that we fought hard on in the election – and the Canadians who came on board because of our campaign are still with us.

Canadians still want leaders who work for them – not wealthy insiders.

But to fight as hard as we want to fight, this team needs to be strong. That means having the resources to keep campaigning across the country and building up our local teams to do even more. And it means showing the other parties that we’re ready to take them on anytime – starting with these fundraising numbers.

John, I know you and our whole team gave it everything we’ve got just a few months ago – but I’m hoping you’ll dig deep and give $3 now to keep us strong at this critical time.

Thanks for everything,

What's the deal with the tax credit?

Donations to the NDP are eligible for a generous tax credit which means you get to help us fight for what people need and get a nice big return at tax time – it's win-win!

You get 75% of the first $400 you give. So at the end of the day, you spend $100 – but our team can invest $400 to build on our campaign momentum, stand up for everyday Canadians, and start 2020 strong and ready for anything.

Donate before December 31 and get the max out of your tax return.
