Hi there,

The last few years have been pretty horrible for many people in our community.

It's been especially hard for the thousands of people with disability who have had to go to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) to try to get the support they need from the NDIS.

Despite all of the stress, exhaustion, and difficulties - our community came together to say enough is enough.

And because of this collective action, NDIS appeals at the AAT are now being taken seriously; the new Minister for the NDIS, Bill Shorten and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) are trying to fix it.

Some groups - including us here at Every Australian Counts and our friends from Disability Advocacy Network Australia (DANA) [[link removed]] - have been talking to people from the NDIA's legal team and the NDIS Minister's office to try and help them find the best ways forward.

We all know that means making sure the voices of people with disability are heard loud and clear - after all, no one knows the AAT process better than those who have had to go through it.

Nothing about us, without us.

That's why we've quickly set up this online forum, and we'd love for people who have been through the AAT process, or are currently going through it, to be part of it.

Spaces to join in the forum via Zoom are limited, because we really want to give people with first-hand experience priority. If this is you, register here [[link removed]] now to secure your spot.

If you miss out on a spot, you can’t make that time, or you don’t have experience with the AAT process you can watch via livestream on Facebook [[link removed]] & YouTube [[link removed]].

We are also setting up a new section on our website that will go live before the forum tomorrow so everyone can get involved, find answers, ask questions, and be heard now and in the future – stay tuned!

We hope whatever comes next is all much much better - and we think there's a really good chance of that if we can start like this - in conversation.

This is just the beginning of the conversation about all that comes next. We'll have more to share after the forum.

Thank you for all that you do,

Jean and the Every Australian Counts team
