[1]Real Justice

John, I wanted to
give you a rundown of how and why we do what we do here at Real Justice.

If you know how we operate — off of 100% grassroots support so we have no
one to answer to except our DAs and you — you know just how much we need
your support. [ [link removed] ]Can you make a donation of whatever you can afford today
to help us hit our End of Quarter goals?

District Attorney races are usually very small, local races that don’t get
a ton of financial support — in some cases DAs will raise $50,000 for an
entire election cycle! Yet they have one of the most important jobs when
it comes to public safety in a community.

For the past few months, we’ve been talking about how our DAs are the
first line of defense to protect abortion rights. They are also the first
line of defense to end mass incarceration, stop the criminalization of
mental health crises and substance use disorder, hold police accountable,
and free innocent people who are wrongfully convicted.

That’s something we recognize at Real Justice. We began in 2017 with the
election of Larry Krasner as Philly DA and have been working to find ways
to support those races and elect even more folks that are bold
justice-minded prosecutors to work on the ground ever since. It’s a
nationwide effort that we are taking on together, and over the past four
years, we’ve elected two dozen DAs in some of the biggest cities in
America.

For the candidates who we endorse in these races, we offer strategic
guidance on communications, digital support, fundraising assistance, and
outreach efforts that they would not be able to afford or carry out on
their own.

And we’ve seen that races like these come down to just a handful of votes
so these efforts could very well be the difference between a win and a
loss.

But the work doesn’t stop there. We go beyond their election.

Once a DA we backed is elected, we continue to give them the support they
need to pursue justice, fight for accountability, and create lasting
change in their communities. And oftentimes they need that support because
as we saw in San Francisco, conservative mega-donors and police unions are
doing everything they can to oppose the work of our bold DAs.

We are important allies in those fights, doing whatever we can to make
sure that our Real Justice DAs don’t get left behind.

But that kind of long-lasting support, especially with our DAs under fire
more than ever due to the abortion access fight happening nationwide, can
get very expensive.

Every single action we take for a DA — whether it’s getting them elected
or defending them so that they can stay in office to continue their work —
are ALL funded by generous donors like you,
John.

sustain our work to elect even more DAs while protecting others who need
our help. Please make the best donation that you can afford today to Real
Justice to help us hit our End of Quarter goals.
