Hi team — on Sunday evenings, I often like to reflect on the week we’ve wrapped up and mentally prepare for the new one ahead. These days are so chock-full of news — and all too often, unnerving developments about the state of our country — that I need these check-ins more than ever.
Tonight, I wanted to take a moment to include you. So let me ask: How are you doing? (Really. Feel free to reply directly to this email to let me know.)
I’ll give you my answer. While I’m frequently frustrated, regularly anxious, and occasionally downright fearful about what lies ahead for our nation, overall, I’m optimistic. Like you, I can see the progress that’s being made little by little in D.C. I see the historic legislation being passed, the bipartisan efforts to make a difference in people’s lives, and the executive leadership guiding the ship.
We know that when we can put the right people in power, when we have leaders we can trust, we can get things done.
Seeing that in action makes me more determined than ever before to ensure that the rug doesn’t get pulled out from under us in 2024 by Donald Trump’s anti-democratic schemes. I wake up every day fired up about the work The American SOS Project is doing to defeat election-denier secretary of state candidates, and I know in my bones that we can get this done and save our democracy from Trump, once and for all.
But what I also know, without a shadow of a doubt, is that we can only get it done if we work together — if every single one of us who cares about progress and cares about democracy steps up and gets involved before November.
So as we get ready to begin a new week, I’m hoping you’ll join me in this optimism and make an investment in our work. Click here to pitch in any amount to The American SOS Project — and let’s start this week stronger than ever!
Thank you — a little over seven weeks left. Let’s go.
