For years, the AZ GOP-controlled legislature has tried to ignore the will of voters when it comes to ballot initiatives.

Republicans have repeatedly tried to undermine measures voters approved that would help school funding. Now, a national outlet just reported the AZ GOP wants to silence voters even more by making ballot measures more restrictive.

Having voters routinely overrule their actions (or inaction) for the last few years, the AZ GOP took an aggressive approach this year in trying to challenge several ballot initiatives.

Now, they want to make it even easier to disrespect the voters. Republicans are tired of passing legislation overruling voters’ preferences, challenging initiatives in court on technical grounds to prevent the measures from getting to voters, and other time-consuming and costly efforts.

They just want to raise the bar so high nothing ever passes without the legislature doing so explicitly.

Enough is enough – the voters deserve to have their voices heard.
