This isn’t an email I wanted to send on a Sunday evening, but we’re running out of time, and this can’t wait.

I just got an update from my campaign fundraising team, and with about 48 hours to go to Tuesday’s public fundraising deadline, we’re still more than $50,000 short of our goal.

I don’t want to scare you, but I have to be blunt: We are dangerously behind right now, and our window of opportunity to get back on track is closing rapidly. 

We’re in one of the closest Attorney General races in the country, so every square inch of our fundraising report will be scrutinized when it’s made public. If we miss our target on Tuesday and look vulnerable, we won’t be able to regain our momentum by Election Day.


John, this is a make-or-break moment, and I’m counting on you. Can you chip in tonight to help us make up the difference? Anything (even $1) counts!


I had the closest statewide race in Minnesota in 2018, and we have an even tougher fight ahead of us this year against an anti-choice hedge-fund lawyer with zero courtroom experience. Public polling currently shows us in a statistical tie, and POLITICO is calling me "Minnesota’s Most Vulnerable Progressive."

Make no mistake: Abortion rights are on the ballot this November. When our fundraising numbers are made public after Tuesday, September 20, they need to make clear that this people-powered movement has never been more ready to defend reproductive freedom.
