I need to say something about what Governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott are doing – shipping migrants to places like Martha’s Vineyard this past week.

It isn’t clever — and it’s not cute.

It’s just cruel.

What they are doing is transporting families, including children, across state lines under false pretenses just to profit politically among the far-right reprobates who cheer on that kind of immoral behavior.

And they call themselves pro-life…

Several of the individuals who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard have even alleged that a recruiter induced them to accept the offer of travel based on false representations of housing and expedited access to work authorization.

These people are bullies.

They target the vulnerable.

In this case, it’s migrant families.

But it’s also the LGBTQ community and even the Special Olympics.

They ban books, they make it harder to vote, they take away the right to an abortion from a young girl who has been raped by a relative.

I want you to know I’ve written a letter to the Attorney General, Merrick Garland formally requesting the Department of Justice begin an investigation into the morally reprehensible behavior of these governors.

I gotta sleep at night, and that means confronting people like Abbott and DeSantis.
