House Passes Andrew's Bill To Help Veterans' Survivors
This week a bill Andrew was proud to help introduce, the Faster Payments to Veterans’ Survivors Act, passed the House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support. The Faster Payments to Veterans’ Survivors Act would streamline the process by which the families of our fallen heroes are able to receive benefits. The bill directs the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to strengthen its processes for identifying, locating, and paying hard-to-find survivors and other beneficiaries after the death of a veteran and shortens the timeframe for the VA to contact beneficiaries, setting a 2-year goal to get the funds disbursed. One of Andrew's top priorities in congress is supporting veterans and their families. He was proud to see this bill pass with his strong support, so Congress may address this benefits backlog and ensure the families of our veterans receive the benefits they are owed

A group of House Republicans led by New York Rep. Claudia Tenney sent a letter Monday to Attorney General Merrick Garland calling on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to enforce basic election integrity laws before the 2022 elections. In the letter, first obtained by the Daily Caller, the lawmakers mention an America First Policy Institute (AFPI) report titled “National Review of Retaining Election Records from the 2020 Election,” which concluded that many of the most heavily populated jurisdictions across the country are not complying with the records retention requirement under the Civil Rights Act of 1960...“The Department of Justice has a responsibility to enforce the Civil Rights Act of 1960, and I strongly urge you to begin doing so immediately. We therefore ask that you undertake immediate action to determine which jurisdictions nationwide may continue to be in violation of the Section 301 of the Civil Rights Act of 1960 for failing to maintain documents from the 2020 election. Additionally, with the 2022 elections approaching, we also request that you act swiftly to ensure jurisdictions are complying with records requirements moving forward,” the lawmakers wrote in the letter...New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, Florida Rep. Bill Posey, New York Rep. Andrew Garbarino, Michigan Rep. Michael Guest, and Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert all co-signed [the letter].

Andrew Honors POW/MIA Heroes in Babylon
This Friday, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Andrew joined the Town of Babylon as the community came together to remember all the brave members of our armed forces who have been held as prisoners of war or are still missing in action. During the ceremony, they heard from gold star families and veterans, recognized and honored our heroes who have yet to return home, and renewed our prayers that they someday would. You are not forgotten.

CASEWORK HIGHLIGHT: Restoring Provider's Medicare Status
A Medicare provider for over 25 years who sees a large population of elderly patients and veterans recently moved office locations from Babylon to East Islip. While in the process of updating their information with Medicare they were disenrolled from Medicare and had office billing privileges deactivated and were unable to see patients who needed them. After trying for two weeks to rectify the issue with Medicare, they contacted Andrew's office. Our caseworkers were able to rectify the issue with Medicare and the practice is able to resume serving their patients.
Andrew knows how frustrating dealing with bureaucracy can be. That is why he has an entire team dedicated to helping constituents get what they need for the federal government. If you need help dealing with a federal agency, contact our office and our team will get to work on your case.

Andrew Pushes To Preserve The Privacy Of Law Abiding Gun Owners
Andrew joined Congresswoman Elise Stefanik in writing to Visa, Mastercard, and American Express to express grave concern regarding their implementation of a new firearm-specific Merchant Category Code (MCC). This presents serious concerns about the potential to track the information of law-abiding gun owners in violation of Americans' Second Amendment rights. The letter demands answers from the credit card companies about their intent to implement this new code. Read more here.
