[ [link removed] ]“But what have Democrats done to actually protect access to abortion after
the fall of Roe v. Wade?”
[ [link removed] ]We’ve heard this question asked several times and we wanted to answer it for
you: But before we go into detail, we’re asking if you’ll give $10
to help us defend our pro-choice Democratic majority in the House at a time
Republicans are on track to defeat it.

[ [link removed] ]DEFEND OUR MAJORITY »

In the Senate, our pro-choice scientists like Jacky Rosen and Mark Kelly
have called for the codification of Roe v. Wade. And our Governors and Lt.
Governors, including Tony Evers & Mandela Barnes, Gretchen Whitmer &
Garlin Gilchrist, are the only things standing between a total abortion
ban in staets like Wisconsin and Michigan, respectively.

In the House, our pro-choice scientists have LED THE FIGHT to defend
abortion access year after year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ Rep. ]Rep. Kim Schrier MDRep. Kim Schrier, MD, is the ONLY pro-choice woman
doctor in the entire U.S. Congress (that’s out of 535 people!). Her
district is currently rated as a toss-up and recent polling confirms her
Republican challenger, who supports banning abortion, is within the margin
of error of defeating her.

That hasn’t stopped her from being a fearless leader on choice: She just
introduced the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act to PROTECT
doctors who provide legal abortion care from criminal penalties, fines,
and jail time.

Reminder: In 20 states, doctors can be threatened with 2-15 years of jail
time for violating GOP abortion bans, in some cases even if it is to save
the life of the mother.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ Rep. ]Rep. Elaine LuriaRep. Elaine Luria was ranked by a handful of election
analysts as THE MOST VULNERABLE Democrat in America after redistricting.
But that hasn’t stopped her from serving on the January 6 investigative
committee OR from being a leader on reproductive freedom.

After Republicans threatened to go after the right to access
contraception, Elaine co-sponsored legislation to BLOCK restrictions on
the ability for women to access contraception, contraceptive devices, and
birth control in every state.

Reminder: Republicans in half a dozen of states have already announced
measures, intentions, or bills to restrict contraceptive access (in fact,
the Republican running against Mark Kelly singled out restricting
contraception as the next step after outlawing abortion!).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ Rep. ]Rep Lauren Underwood. RNRep. Lauren Underwood, RN, is one of the only
pro-choice nurses in Congress and one of the most competitive House races
in the country in 2018 and 2020. She’s up against another ruthless
re-election fight but has never backed down from fighting for what’s
right.

Lauren sponsored the historic Black Maternal Health Momnibus, the most
important piece of legislation aimed at addressing maternal health, infant
mortality, and the health of mothers in the aftermath of their pregnancies
in modern history.

Reminder: Women of color in the United States are far more likely to die
from pregnancy-related causes and Republicans have targeted funding for
Medicaid and reproductive health care service providers who try to help
expecting and recent mothers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ Rep. ]Rep. Melanie StansburyRep. Melanie Stansbury is one of the few
environmental experts in Congress who won a landmark and historic special
election in 2021 despite the odds (and flipped a tough-as-nails GOP seat
in the state legislature prior).

Melanie co-sponsored the My Body, My Data Act of 2022 which would protect
information and data related to sexual and reproductive health from being
sold or access by Republicans looking to target women in states where
abortion is illegal (or to pursue women who seek abortion care in abortion
safe havens out-of-state).

Reminder: Republicans in a dozen states have moved to restrict who can
access mail related to abortion care and several states have expressed
interest in tracking private travel and menstrual information of women to
prosecute them for bypassing GOP abortion bans.

[ [link removed] ]We’re proud to support incredible pro-choice Democratic scientists and
women who have BEEN LEADING for years to defend women’s health and women’s
rights. Many of them could lose their seats and we may lose our majority
in the House unless people step up. That’s why we’re asking if you’ll help
us fund our massive effort to defend our pro-choice majority in the House.
