John,
Corporate America is bankrolling the greatest threat to our democracy we’ve ever seen.
After 147 members of the GOP voted to throw out millions of votes and overturn the results of the 2020 election, major corporations pledged to stop donating to this Sedition Caucus.
That commitment was short-lived.
Since the January 6th attack on our nation's Capitol, major corporations -- including AT&T, Toyota, Home Depot, and others -- have donated more than $16 million dollars to the Sedition Caucus.
We’re fighting back and helping to drive public pressure on these seditionist corporations to clean up their act. Chip in $5 today to help Clean Up Corruption hold these corporations accountable and demand they stop funding insurrectionists now!
Corporations empower bad actors to continue pushing outlandish conspiracy theories by continuing to fill their campaign coffers. That’s why these donations are a significant obstacle to holding elected officials accountable to their constituents.
But corporations don’t just contribute for no reason. They only spend money when they think it will make them money. When American Express, Walgreens, UPS and others made their pledge to withhold contributions, they did it because they feared the public backlash for supporting these seditionist Republicans would affect their profits.
Now they think we aren’t paying attention any more, so they’re donating to Sedition Caucus members because these are the same members of Congress who support giving corporate America huge tax handouts (handouts that come at the expense of social programs that would help the most vulnerable in our society).
We cannot allow billion dollar corporations to continue to corrupt America by putting their greed and profit margin ahead of the future of our democracy.
Public pressure worked to get these companies to pledge to not donate to the Sedition Caucus and public pressure will get them to honor that pledge. Chip in $5 so we can put pressure on corporate America and save our democracy.
Corporate America must be held accountable. With your support, we’re making it happen.
Thank you for supporting this fight,
Chris Tallent
