Tonight, Americans saw the Elizabeth Warren who became a frontrunner in the polls -- relaxed, funny, energetic, relentless, and with anti-corruption at the center of her message.

With impeachment as the backdrop, Warren was the only candidate on the debate stage consistently making the case that the best way to defeat a corrupt president is by taking on corruption itself -- and putting government on the side of the people.

Pete Buttigieg defended the campaign finance status quo and his practice of selling access to billionaires in wine caves surrounded by $900 bottles of wine. Meanwhile, Warren made clear that the only way to defeat corruption and return government to the people is to challenge powerful interests on the campaign trail. It's a grassroots strategy that has resulted in her raising more money than Buttigieg so far. Warren won the night. She's back.

"We've got a government that works great for those with money and doesn't work for much of anyone else. We have a government that works great for giant drug companies, just not for someone trying to fill a prescription. Works great for people who want to make money in private prisons and private detention centers at our border, just not for the people whose lives are torn apart. Works great for giant oil companies that want to drill everywhere but not for the rest of us who see climate change bearing down upon us. When you see a government that works great for the wealthy and the well connected and for no one else, that is corruption pure and simple, and we need to call it out for what it is."

"I do not sell access to my time. I don't do call time with millionaires and billionaires. I don't meet behind closed doors with big-donor donors. Look, I'm taking one that ought to be an easy step for everyone here. I've said to anyone who wants to donate to me, if you want to donate to me, that's fine. But don't come around later expecting to be named ambassador. Because that's what goes on in these high-dollar fundraisers."

Thanks for being a bold progressive.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told PCCC members, "The majority of Americans are with us on the policies. Americans support Medicare for All, expanding Social Security benefits, gun reform, debt-free college, and a $15 minimum wage. Bold progressive values are popular EVERYWHERE. Together, we have the people. Together, with your help, we’ll have the votes." Chip in $3 here.
