Friends, I’m reaching out for your help: We need to stop Kevin McCarthy from taking the Speaker’s gavel this fall.
McCarthy has already vowed to try to silence me and remove me from the Foreign Affairs committee if Republicans take back the House majority. But he won’t stop there — his record of extreme partisanship and support of far-right policies means this is only the start of his nefarious plans.
McCarthy is pouring in tens of millions of dollars across the country to take back the House. His right-wing, Trump-supporting base has donated at least $124 million to his campaign this election cycle. He raked in $9.5 million from mega-donors at a single fundraiser.
But the good news is that voters across the country are tired of the GOP’s extreme anti-abortion stance and corruption — and new polls show that Democrats’ likelihood of holding the House is growing.
That means we have the opportunity to grow our grassroots movement and compete against McCarthy’s Republican mega-donors. We took back the House in 2018, and we can defend our five-seat majority from McCarthy if we’re ready to fight for it. But we only have 7 weeks, and we need to act fast.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy would be open to an extreme 15-week nationwide abortion ban like the one Lindsey Graham just introduced in the Senate.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy would resurrect his party’s failed efforts from 2017 to strip healthcare away from millions of people — and he could have the votes to succeed this time.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy would continue to let hatred and bigotry go unchecked, including when he refused to hold his far-right members accountable for their Islamophobic attacks against me.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy would lead attacks on our democracy along with the more than 100 House Republicans who also voted against certifying 2020 election results — undermining fair and free elections and targeting young, Black and Brown voters with voter suppression laws.
