I wanted to take a moment and personally update you on the latest in our race.

With about three weeks until ballots hit mailboxes, we have launched our first flight of TV ads, mailers, and we continue running a robust field program to deliver our message to undecided voters. We’re also countering the attacks being run by Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC.

I want to stress that none of this would have been possible without your ongoing support. I don’t believe for a second that money or the loudest TV ads will be the deciding factor in this race, but this is still widely considered a tossup district and we can’t leave anything to chance. We need to do everything possible to avoid being outspent. As it stands, we’re being outpaced by my self-funding opponent and the super PACs lined up behind him.

The end of September marks our final FEC’s fundraising deadline before the General Election. That’s in about two weeks and my campaign set an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 in online donations before this deadline hits. We’re still short of that mark, so if you can, please chip in to help us meet this goal by chipping in $3 today.

Remember, a large number of CA-49 residents will be voting in this district for the first time since new congressional maps were drawn. That means we need to make a strong push to get our message out to as many voters as possible in the coming weeks.
