Dear John, Happy Constitution Day! It’s been a busy week, but I wanted to keep you updated on how I am fighting for our conservative values. This was a terrific week for the pro-life movement. I am proud to be a co-sponsor and vocal proponent of the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act. This bill will prohibit abortions on babies who have passed the 15-week gestation mark. Thanks to the extraordinary advances in science, we know that babies as young as 15 weeks experience pain. This is a human rights issue. Babies should never be subjected to excruciating suffering. It’s past time we protected our most vulnerable citizens. In addition, my Republican colleagues and I have been working to introduce legislation to provide federal funding to pregnancy care centers. These centers serve as a community resource that provides access to information that empowers women with the knowledge and support they need for themselves and their unborn child. |
This week, I received an A+ rating from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) in just my first term in Congress. I have, and always will, speak up and fight for our Second Amendment rights on the House Floor. Our right to self-defense is enshrined in the Constitution. I promise to continue to strongly defend one of our most consequential rights. |
