Hi team – it’s me, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and I have an important update for you.

Here in Michigan, I’m fighting to defend our progress. From fixing our roads, investing record amounts in our children’s education, and fighting like hell to defend the right to safe and legal abortion access, I’m working for Michigan every day.

But the other side is hell-bent on taking our country backward and stripping away our reproductive rights. They're beholden to their dangerous ideology, their deep-pocketed special interests, and no one else. My opponent has made it clear that she would reverse the progress we’ve made, spread dangerous conspiracy theories, and vowed to enforce Michigan’s dangerous 1931 abortion ban!

My election in Michigan isn’t the only one where our fundamental rights are on the ballot this November. In states like Wisconsin, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, governors’ races will determine whether or not abortion is protected or criminalized for millions of Americans.

National groups and special interests have spent millions of dollars to attack me and my fellow governors. To beat them and their big-money allies, we’ll need a surge of grassroots support.
