Georgia voters are already requesting absentee ballots for the general election, and with exactly one month until in-person early voting begins on October 17, it’s crunch time for ensuring free and fair elections. 

We’re going to keep working to break down barriers that anti-voter bad actors have created to limit voter participation.

Whether it’s building robust voter protection plans, filing our landmark Fair Fight Action v. Raffensperger voting rights case, or making sure Black and brown voters have information on the power of their vote — it’s all been leading up to ensuring every eligible voter can make their voices heard at the ballot box.

In May, voters turned out in record numbers for dozens of races up and down the ballot in the Georgia Primary Election. With only in-person early voting and mail-in ballots, turnout was up over 166% from the 2018 primary, with over 875,000 Georgians casting their vote.

This is not by chance. Our team has been laser-focused on dismantling systemic voter suppression to truly create a representative democracy. Increased voter turnout is a result of this. And we can get so much more done ahead of the start of early voting on October 17 if we keep working together to change the way our democracy is run — and who it works for.

This election will have consequences. And everything — the freedom to vote, reproductive freedom, protecting our democracy — everything, is on the ballot.
