I wasn’t on the debate stage tonight, friend. Instead, I spent my evening talking to caucus-goers and supporters in Iowa.
I had some great conversations with Iowans and even hopped on the phone alongside some of our organizers and volunteers during a phonebank.
We talked about my plans to fight for reproductive rights, advance environmental justice, end the epidemic of gun violence, reform our broken criminal justice system -- and many more issues that I would’ve spoken to had I had the chance to bring them up during tonight’s debate.
I may not have been on the stage, but we did go up on the air tonight with our first television ad of this campaign -- reaching millions of viewers. For an underdog campaign like ours, that’s huge. The only reason we were able to do this was because tens of thousands of supporters stepped up in the past few weeks to help make it happen.
As we work towards qualifying for the January debate, we’re going to need the resources to keep spreading our message of justice for all nationwide. Will you chip in right now?

It’s certainly true that I’m not a self-funding billionaire. That made it a little harder to secure my spot on a stage that ended up having more billionaires than Black people. It was a shame that the rich diversity of our party wasn’t represented during tonight’s debate.
But I’m determined to be back on that stage in January. With your support, we will make it happen.
