Hey Friends -

I made a pretty tough decision yesterday and you need to know about it.

Mandela is getting pummeled on the air in Wisconsin with nasty attack ads from Ron Johnson's right-wing dark-money groups. It's become very clear that in order to fight back, we desperately need to expand our advertising budgets to get Mandela's message out to voters.

The money wasn’t originally in our September budget. But I gave the green light anyway.

I took a pretty big risk here. For sure. Because right now, we need to be doing everything we possibly can to keep this campaign on a path to victory. The truth is that we're running out of time before Election Day, and we can't afford to lose any ground in this race.

So I was willing to bet that if I asked, you would help fill the gap in our budget. And I’m really hoping that you will. For Mandela. And for everyone who is ready to flip Wisconsin's Senate seat.

As I mentioned above, this was a pretty tough call. As campaign manager, it is my job to balance a number of different budget priorities and decide where to best allocate our resources. And I typically do not approve spending unless the expense can be covered by our fundraising projections.

But if there’s one thing that makes this campaign exceptional, it’s the number of people who are contributing to stand with Mandela.
