I’m about to ask you to split a $5 donation between Catherine Cortez Masto’s campaign for Senate in Nevada and my efforts to defend the Senate majority.

Here’s the short of it: (1) The race is universally considered a toss-up; (2) McConnell’s super PAC just added $6 million to their ad buy taking the GOP spending against her to $38 million; (3) Her campaign could use as much help as possible to take the lead before this month’s official FEC deadline. At least three public polls in the past month have shown Nevada to be a 1 to 2-point race — all in the margin of error. She’s been up, and she’s been down. But what’s consistent is that this is one of the closest races in the country — if not the absolute closest.

In 2016 when Catherine became the first Latina elected to the Senate, her margin of victory was only about 2 percent. Her race likely will decide whether we hold our majority or if Mitch McConnell returns to his reign of gridlock and obstruction.

McConnell knows all of this. That’s why his dark money machine doubled down with their latest ad buy. The $6 million they added in Nevada is more than double what they added in any other state.

So let’s not take any chances. Catherine Cortez Masto’s campaign urgently needs our help — especially right before the last end-of-quarter FEC deadline this month.
