Here are NINE reasons why I’m proud to celebrate MAP’s ninth birthday: -
We continue to be the nation’s largest and most diverse network of young elected leaders — with over 1,600 legislators working in all 50 states and in Congress since our founding.
- Our cross-partisan coalitions have made a tangible impact in safeguarding elections, innovating energy solutions, pursuing racial justice, and advancing job skills and training for the next generation of work.
-
We've developed unique, peer-to-peer forums for legislators to connect over policy issues they care about and share best practices. This week alone we hosted convening for two of these advisory councils on Criminal Justice Reform and Future of Work!
- We’ve expanded across generations – adding
Gen Z into our network of young leaders who are building a more functional democracy.
- This year, we announced new leadership in our 31st bipartisan State Future Caucus (Vermont!) — creating another hub for state legislators to innovate together.
- For six years, we have been hosting our annual Future Summit —the nation’s largest bipartisan gathering of young state legislators.
-
MAP is on the map – with features in Forbes, The New York Times, The Washington Post, U.S. News and World Report, Business Insider, The Huffington Post and more!
- Our team - from top to bottom - is as diverse as our American fabric. Since its founding, MAP has always prioritized making our advisory councils, summits, and programs accessible to legislators of all backgrounds.
-
We’ve recruited over 22,000 supporters who make our victories possible. Yes, that’s you!
Whether you first gave to MAP nine years ago, or you make your first gift today, I’m deeply grateful for your investment in our democracy.
Thank you for all you do to ensure that the next generation has a political system that works for all Americans. Cheers to many more milestones to celebrate, |
