“The vote is precious. It is almost sacred. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democracy.” — John Lewis in a 2019 CommonWealth Interview
Dear John,
350MKE is partnering with 350 Wisconsin Action ([link removed]) to give our members some options to take action and make a

The election is less than 8 weeks away, and we need everyone’s help to re-elect Tony Evers for Governor and to elect Mandela Barnes to the Senate! Here are this week’s featured opportunities.
We need your help to re-elect Tony Evers for Governor and to elect Mandela Barnes to the Senate!
Here's the second great opportunity for you:
Reach out to young voters with NextGen
“NextGen is the nation’s largest youth voting organization that’s using innovative digital and field strategies to turn out young voters in key states. We’re empowering the largest and most diverse generation in American history through voter education, registration and mobilization. At NextGen we share lessons learned with the broader progressive community to build a stronger, more nimble and effective democracy.”
We will be joining NextGen on Tuesday, September 20, for tabling at Madison College, UW Milwaukee, Marquette, UW Oshkosh, and UW Stout. You will talk to students about the importance of voting and encourage them to sign “I pledge to vote” cards. Training is provided. (Note that this is a nonpartisan event.) Click below to learn more and sign up for a 2 hour tabling shift.

Writing letters to the editor is still alive and well!
Letters to the editor– in both print and online newspapers–are an effective way to reach persuadable voters. You can join 350 Wisconsin Action in writing letters to newspapers across the state, endorsing Barnes and Evers and stressing the importance of voting for clean water, renewable energy and green jobs. You will receive a comprehensive list of newspapers with instructions for how to submit letters to them. We’ll also provide a toolkit with sample letters that you can use and modify. And if you like, we’d be happy to edit your letters before you submit them.

We hope you'll get involved!

350 Wisconsin Action is a 501(c)4 nonprofit involved at every step of the political process. During election cycles, we engage with candidates and the public to promote and support climate action and to get climate champions elected. Beyond electoral politics, we work with individuals and communities to pressure elected officials and government agencies to enact climate-forward policies and practices.
