How the Constitution Shapes Our Lives
A Constitution Day message from JMC President Hans Zeiger
[link removed]

We the People.

What a powerful phrase.
It isn’t we the royalty, or we the experts, or we the chosen few.

"We the People."

Those first three words of the United States Constitution imply so much about America and about the idea of the country—and it turns out that the idea of the country is most fundamentally an idea about people.

The United States Constitution provides the framework to realize the vision of the founders to create a "more perfect Union."

Constitution Day, September 17, is a day on which Americans celebrate the 235th anniversary of the Constitution.

In this short video, Hans Zeiger talks about the powerful words in the preamble to the Constitution and how this founding document continues to shape our lives.
Now more than ever, our young people need to be taught how the "blessings of liberty" enshrined in the Constitution are theirs as well to enjoy and to protect.

In this spirit, the Jack Miller Center brings life around the study of the U.S. Constitution each September to honor Constitution Day. JMC sponsors a variety of events for students and the public to show how our Constitution protects our rights and freedoms.
