The news that GOP Senator Lindsey Graham is trying to pass a federal ban on reproductive rights and promising their base that, if Republicans retake the House and Senate, they will vote on it to try to drive turnout in the midterms isn’t surprising— but it is yet another reason we have to do get out the vote with our own supporters.
That’s why I came to work for Ami earlier in the summer. Americans’ freedoms are under threat from the alleged “freedom-loving” Republican Party and leaders like Ami, who is not only running his own race here in Sacramento County, but also helping in toss up races across the country, are the only thing separating us from the GOP destroying our progress.

After the major wins in Kansas and New York’s special election, John, it's becoming clear that Americans all over — even in Republican strongholds — are not happy with the far-right agenda. While California has strong protections for reproductive rights, that cannot be said for most of the states across our country — which is why it is so important to protect reproductive rights at the federal level with an expanded Democratic majority.
