Friend ? Tonight, Friday 9/16:?we have the Democratic Party of Butte County's Sweet September celebration. It's taking place at the Southside Community Center in Oroville. It starts at 7:00 pm, and -- depending on whether or not you have a sweet tooth -- it should be a ton of fun. ? Tomorrow, Saturday 9/17:?we have a full day of events in Redding. Starting at 9:30 am with a Women's Rights Rally at Redding City Hall, followed by door-to-door canvassing in Redding, and then a 5:00 pm Meet-and-Greet at a volunteer's house in Redding (feel free to email for details). ? The New York Times had an excellent article today on the ongoing conflict between establishment/moderate Republicans and the MAGA-rightwing in Shasta County. For those of you who do not live in Shasta, it's been an intense battle, with the far-right promulgating lies and threats of violence to take control. ? LaMalfa has -- whether through cowardice or craven political self-interest -- thrown in with the far-right. It's a dark, small-scale harbinger of things to come if we do not come together as a country and reject the semi-fascist radicalism that has reared its ugly head.? ?
