Friend,

The Washington Post just published a blockbuster new report documenting nearly 20 years of lies about the war in Afghanistan.

The report finds that nearly everything we've been told since the beginning has been a lie.

Since the United States launched "Operation Enduring Freedom" in 2001, more than 110,000 Afghans have been killed. More than a trillion dollars spent. 775,000 U.S. troops deployed and 2,300 killed.

But despite rosy reports claiming the military actions were making progress, nearly everything the U.S. tried in Afghanistan failed. In fact, many Americans are probably surprised to learn that we're still fighting a war in Afghanistan at all.

As a reader of Common Dreams, none of this comes as a surprise to you. We never stopped covering America's forever wars—and we never lied to you about the horrors.

Common Dreams is the independent, progressive news source you count on to give you the news that the military contractors, politicians, and Pentagon don't want you to know about.

The only way we can continue providing this essential coverage is with your financial support. Will you donate today to help meet our year-end fundraising goal of $100,000?

We can't do it without you.

Thank you,

Andrea Germanos
