Dear Texan,

It was a full week in Washington, so as I make my way back to Texas, I wanted to take a moment to update you on my work in Congress and TX-31.

ON THE DOCKET:

• VFW Meeting
• The Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Healthcare Act
• Ribbon Cutting for the new Hanger at the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport
• Meeting with Pacific Defense 

THE BRIEF:

• With natural gas prices up 30% and electricity prices up 15%, one in six Americans are now behind on utility bills and in danger of losing their utility services.
• President Biden has leased fewer acres of federal and offshore land for domestic oil and gas production at this point in his presidency than any other president since the end of World War II.
• Over 80% of small business owners expressed concerns over Biden’s inflation crisis.

VFW MEETING

I met with Mitch Fuller, a representative of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). We discussed important issues that our affect our veterans, including resources to help our servicemembers transition to civilian life, job placement assistance, and appropriations wins that benefit our veterans. As the top Republican on the Veterans Affairs Appropriations subcommittee, I remain committed to providing the resources necessary to fulfill America’s promise to our heroes.

THE IMPROVING SENIORS’ TIMELY ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE ACT

I supported the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act to reduce prior authorization paperwork, streamline care, and improve health outcomes for seniors this week. Bureaucracy should never get in the way of seniors receiving timely care.

RIBBON CUTTING FOR THE NEW HANGER AT THE KILLEEN-FORT HOOD REGIONAL AIRPORT

It was great to celebrate the completion of the new hangar for CSI Aviation at the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport on Monday. CSI Aviation offers medical and passenger flights, and it’s a great addition to the greater Killeen area. This hangar is an example of the growth happening all over the 31st district, and I’m glad to see this exciting new facility come to fruition.

MEETING WITH PACIFIC DEFENSE

I met with Pacific Defense to discuss the electromagnetic hardware and software solutions aimed at helping our troops on the battlefield. This next generation equipment will increase our military’s electronic warfare capabilities and assist in keeping our service members safe.
