For nearly five decades, we’ve won landmark cases that brought systemic reforms to the Deep South and the country – but the reality is, we have major challenges in the year ahead.

Dear ,

For nearly five decades, we’ve won landmark cases that brought systemic reforms to the Deep South and the country – but the reality is, we have major challenges in the year ahead.

That’s why a group of supporters has offered to match your contribution, up to $ 1 million, giving you the opportunity to double down on the work we accomplished in 2019 <[link removed]>.

HAVE YOUR GIFT MATCHED! <[link removed]>
Looking back on 2019 we:

… exposed how White House senior adviser Stephen Miller promoted racist and anti-immigrant propaganda to a far-right website, leading dozens of U.S. senators to demand his resignation;

… won a $ 14 million court judgment against the notorious founder of a neo-Nazi website called the Daily Stormer , which he used to orchestrate a campaign of terror against a Jewish woman in Montana;

… continued to shut down modern-day debtors’ prisons across the Deep South;

… documented 1,020 hate groups operating across the United States;

… sued the Trump administration in a major class action over the horrific, inhumane conditions faced by some 55,000 people being imprisoned by ICE in jails and prisons across the country;

… delivered our award-winning anti-bias resources to teachers across the country, reaching millions of children;

… led a cutting-edge campaign, along with our allies, to pressure Silicon Valley companies like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and PayPal to stop hate groups from using their internet platforms;

… successfully sued to protect hundreds of thousands of low-income people from losing their life-saving health care coverage under a cruel and illegal Medicaid “work requirement” scheme promoted by the Trump administration;

… filed suit against a private prison company that’s fattening its profits through the forced labor of imprisoned immigrants;

... recruited and trained hundreds of attorneys to provide pro bono legal representation since launching our ambitious Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative.

In 2020 we’ll continue these projects and take on new ones. But we need your support. Please donate today to our year-end matching campaign to DOUBLE your impact in 2020. <[link removed]>

Sincerely,

Your friends at the SPLC
