September 16, 2022
Greetings,
We hope you had a great week. To all who celebrated, we hope you had a peaceful Mid-Autumn Festival! Congressman Kim began this week in New Jersey before heading back to Washington to vote on legislation to support our veterans and their families. September is Hispanic Heritage Month and our office is excited to help honor the contributions of the Hispanic American community in New Jersey!
This past Sunday marked the 21st anniversary of the attacks on September 11th, 2001. Congressman Kim and our team stood side-by-side with neighbors and remembered all our friends and loved ones taken from our communities and our country on that day.
As always, we hope you find the following updates and resources helpful.

Congressman Kim Attends Inflation Reduction Act Event at White House
On Tuesday, Congressman Kim attended an event at the White House for the Inflation Reduction Act.
President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law on August 16th. Congressman Kim voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act on August 12 to:
- Reduce the national debt by $300 billion.
- Ensure no senior on Medicare pays more than $2,000 per year for prescription drugs, with the option to spread that amount over $166 monthly payments, saving seniors money and giving them peace of mind.
- This provision was championed and co-written by Congressman Kim in his Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act.
- Establish a $35 monthly cap on out-of-pocket costs for insulin for older New Jerseyans on Medicare.
- Give Medicare the authority to negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs.
- Establish a new Inflation Rebate that requires drug companies that increase the price of their drugs beyond the pace of inflation to pay a rebate to Medicare.
- These provisions will help reduce unjustified price increases and limit unnecessary price hikes for drugs that have been on the market for years.
- This will help keep drug prices down for consumers in the commercial market, not just seniors on Medicare.
- Save over 17,000 people in New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District an average of $1,000 off their healthcare premiums.
