Because Cory won’t be on stage tonight, it’s likely that important issues won’t get much air time -- and we should all be upset by that.
Friend,
In about an hour, seven candidates for president will be taking the stage for the December DNC debate. Unfortunately, for the first time in this election, Cory won’t be one of them. Of course, we’re bummed out that he won’t be able to share his vision for America on a national stage. And frankly, the entire Democratic Party should be upset about it too.
Not having Cory’s voice up there is a huge loss for all of us who care not only about beating Donald Trump, but about bringing our country together to solve some of our biggest problems.
So far in these debates, we’ve barely touched on the existential threat of the climate crisis; we’ve hardly had the opportunity to discuss the fact that reproductive rights are being stripped away from people, state by state; there’s been almost no conversation on the growing number of trans women of color being killed in our country; and, without Cory on stage, I doubt anyone will talk through their plan to close the racial wealth gap.
Because Cory won’t be on stage tonight, it’s likely that these important issues won’t get much air time -- and we should all be upset by that.
That’s why we’re fighting hard to make sure he’s part of the next one. We know that Cory’s voice is essential to this race.
If you agree, chip in and help us hit our $800,000 end-of-year fundraising goal to get Cory’s message out to more folks in early states.
Thanks,
Jenna
