Honored Deceased Border Patrol Agent in Rocksprings

Agent Donna Doss served more than 15 years in the Border Patrol when she was killed in the line of duty on February 2, 2019. To commemorate her service, I was proud to help pass the Donna M. Doss Memorial Act into law which officially renamed the Rocksprings Border Patrol Station after Donna Doss. Last week, I joined Border Patrol leadership in Rocksprings to share remarks at the official renaming ceremony. This station will not only commemorate Donna, but every agent who has lost their life in the line of duty. We will always remember their dedication and service.

Met with Law Enforcement and Small Businesses in Monahans

Local law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to protect Americans. It was great to meet with the new Monahans Chief of Police, Kristofer Quintana, to discuss my commitment and support for law enforcement and school safety initiatives.

While I was in town, I also stopped by Circle J’s Western Wear to chat with owners, Stephanie and Bill Clayton, and Chamber of Commerce Director, Teresa Burnett. I appreciate the hard work they do to support our local economy.

Visited with Students and Teachers at Uvalde Elementary

Last week, I visited with students and teachers at Uvalde Elementary School. After the tragedy that befell this community in May, I was glad to see that students have returned to a welcoming learning environment and are surrounded by supportive teachers and staff. I will continue to stay up to date with their needs to work on their behalf in Congress.

Stopped by the City of Sonora

Every community in our district has experienced an uptick in migrant trafficking. The City of Sonora is no exception. I stopped by last week for a conversation with the new Chief of Police, Pete Garcia, and City Manager, Art Fuentes, about helping them access the resources they need through my work in Congress.

Presented With NFIB's Small Business Award

I was honored to be presented with the National Federation of Independent Businesses Small Business award. I was selected because of my strong pro-business voting record in Congress. I strongly admire their mission of continuously advocating for small and independent business owners nationwide. This work is especially important to me because I have seen firsthand how small businesses help our rural communities to flourish in TX-23.

My team and I are always available to assist you. Please feel free to contact my office at any time.
