I’m no stranger to these fights. As a council member for the city of Austin, I worked with Planned Parenthood to stop the Texas state legislature from closing a city-supported clinic in East Austin and ensure that marginalized communities could get the reproductive care they needed.
But this is bigger than Texas.
With these Republican officials aggressively pursuing a federal abortion ban, it is absolutely critical that we keep the GOP out of power by electing bold progressives who will fight for our future.
And when I get to Congress, I will fight not only for your constitutional right to an abortion, but for EVERYONE’S right to health care, affordable housing, and a sustainable future.
