Dear John,
Today is my birthday! Yep, I’m a full 62-years old. When our chair, Alicia Andrews, asked me what I wanted for my birthday, my first instinct was to ask for a week’s vacation on a quiet beach or that snazzy outdoor griddle I’ve been eyeing. As great as either would be, I really only want one thing for my birthday this year: To get a bunch of Democrats elected in Oklahoma.
The beautiful thing is that this is much more than a dream wish. With new poll numbers showing Joy Hofmeister in a statistical tie with the inept governor we have now, and with Jena Nelson pulling way ahead of the public-education-hater who is her opponent, we all have real reason to HOPE this year.
But it will take more than hope. It will require us to drive huge voter turnout to support our amazing candidates up and down the ballot. That’s why I’m asking you to pitch in for my birthday.
Please consider making a gift of $20.22 to the Oklahoma Democratic Party. We will use every nickel to push Democrats, Independents, and moderate-Republicans to vote for our magnificent slate.
With your help, we can overcome the naysayers and paint a much brighter future for our great state.
If $20.22 is more than you can contribute right now, we will be grateful for any amount.
My request is urgent, and I hope you will help make my birthday—and everyone else’s birthday for the next four years—terrific.
Standing with you for Democracy,
Scott J. Hamilton, Executive Director
