It’s been two years of “firsts” since the Abraham Accords were signed.
The first free trade agreement between Israel and an Arab country. The first direct flights from Tel Aviv to the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco. The first Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the first Emirati embassy in Israel.
But perhaps the most moving of firsts happened yesterday.
On an official visit to Israel commemorating the second anniversary of the accords, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan toured Yad Vashem and laid a wreath in its Hall of Remembrance.
“I am here today to remind ourselves of the lessons that history teaches us and the great responsibility upon us to act with tolerance for building our community and society,” he wrote in the guestbook.
It was a powerful moment, and another manifestation of how the Abraham Accords – made possible through a strong U.S.-Israel relationship – have reshaped the Middle East.
Thank you for working with AIPAC to keep this vital relationship strong.
Auburn University Men's Basketball Head Coach Pearl brought his Auburn team to Israel for a "Birthright for College Basketball Tour" of the Jewish state. Auburn competed against the Israeli National Team, while also gaining a firsthand experience of Israel's historical, religious and cultural sites.
Coach Pearl is an outspoken advocate for the U.S.-Israel relationship and for ensuring Israel can always defend itself. He joins AIPAC for an exclusive conversation to share his motivations for bringing the Auburn Tigers to Israel and using his public platform to spread a pro-Israel message.
Sawsan Natour Hasson, newly appointed Minister for Public Diplomacy at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., sits down with AIPAC to discuss the Abraham Accords, opportunities for regional cooperation, her new role as the Minister for Public Diplomacy, and the Druze community in Israel.

Trade with the UAE "will be more than $2.2 billion this year, and this is very encouraging compared to 1.221 billion all 2021. It means we are running forward with trade," said Ambassador Amir Hayek.
"It's been two years since this monumental moment took place...the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain normalizing diplomatic ties with Israel, brokered by the United States, with Morocco following suit shortly after."
