As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, it is my top priority to support democracies across the globe who share our values. That’s why I was honored to join a Delegation appointed by President Biden to visit Nairobi, Kenya this week and witness the peaceful transfer of power at the inauguration of William Ruto as President.

America must stand with our democratic allies across the world. Whether it is cooperating on regional stability and security, trade and investment between our two nations, or working together to strengthen democratic institutions – I was proud to reiterate our commitment on this visit to Nairobi with U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai and U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman and strengthen the important ties between our two nations.
