John: Coverage for 54 million people with pre-existing conditions -- including 1.7 million North Carolinians -- now hangs in the balance after a court ruled the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate unconstitutional.

Make no mistake: this is exactly what the GOP had hoped for -- and Thom Tillis helped make this partisan stunt possible in the first place because he has no shame when it comes to taking health care away from millions.

In fact, Tillis has made a career out of it. He blocked Medicaid expansion in our state as Speaker of the North Carolina House. He repeatedly voted to gut the ACA and rip health care away from millions, including those with pre-existing conditions. And he supported the GOP tax law, laying the foundation for this dangerous lawsuit.
