Governor Laura Kelly Encourages Kansans to Visit Annual State Fair Before End of the Season

"~~This Year, Kelly Signed Bipartisan Legislation to Enhance
State Fair Experience~~"

*HUTCHINSON* – Governor Laura Kelly encourages Kansans to make the trip to Hutchinson to enjoy the last few days of the 2022 Kansas State Fair. 

“Generations of Kansans have made lifelong memories at the fair, celebrating what we all love about our great state,” *Governor Laura Kelly said*. “I want to thank everyone who works to make this event a reality year in and year out. You make the Sunflower State proud.”  

The Kelly Administration is proud to partner with the State Fair to continue to enhance this valuable attraction.  

This year, Governor Kelly signed bipartisan legislation [ [link removed] ] that allows the State Fair to keep the tax revenue collected from liquor sales and reinvest those right here on the fairgrounds. As part of this partnership, the state will be investing nearly $15 million to completely reimagine and restore the Bison Arena, improve walkability, update the public address system, finish the Expo Center renovation, and provide air conditioning in the 4-H Centennial Hall and Oz Gallery.  

“I encourage Kansans who haven’t yet made the trip to visit this year to do so,” *she said*. “I look forward to continuing to work with the State Fair to ensure this unique opportunity for education, agriculture, food, and entertainment continues to attract visitors and bring Kansans together for years to come."
