We wanted to make sure you saw the latest analysis from The Hill, because it perfectly sums up why CA-40 is a battleground race that could determine House control.

As you may know, Republicans need just five seats to take the Majority. There are five hyper-competitive races in California – including Dr. Mahmood’s in CA-40. That means voters in California will determine whether Democrats retain the majority in Congress.

Many political pundits fail to factor in voter demographics in their race projections. CA-40 is one of the most diverse districts in the country, and when that data is incorporated, it shows that Republican-held seats like ours can be flipped with strong voter turnout.

If Democrats flip CA-40 and four other target races, Republicans would have to win more than twice as many seats across the rest of the country to win the majority.

Our primary election results showed us Republican extremist Young Kim is weak with two-thirds of voters rejecting her. Meanwhile, Dr. Mahmood earned the largest vote share of any candidate on the ballot.
