22 GOP Governors Call for Biden To Withdraw Student Loan Forgiveness Plan

A letter signed by 22 Republican governors is calling for President Joe Biden to withdraw his student loan forgiveness plan, claiming it would harm low-income families, encourage more student borrowing, incentivize higher tuition rates, and drive up inflation.

The group includes Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

The White House has said that 90% of those who will benefit from the program earn less than $75,000 a year.

Growing Movement to End Billboards and Outdoor Advertising

In London, UK advocacy group Adfree Cities is looking to ban all outdoor advertising, including on public transportation. Efforts in London are part of an ongoing movement to rid cities and landscapes of outdoor ads and billboards, with advocates arguing they can impact social, mental health, and environmental issues, promote unethical products, and contribute to “sight pollution.”

A number of cities around the world have already taken action to ban outdoor advertising including Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2006 and Grenoble, France in 2014.

Do you want billboards and outdoor advertising to be banned in your area?
